Government Relations Representative

ASME has an excellent opportunity for a government relations professional in our Washington DC office. The incumbent will be responsible for involving ASME in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of policies and federal programs related to engineering and research and development.

The Government Relations Representative will be responsible for assembling data and information on the annual R&D budget proposals for key agencies; actively participate in coalitions; work closely with our members to arrange for communication of ASME views to the federal government through testimony, position statements, letters, action alerts, briefings, workshops, meetings and other means such as organizing visits between ASME members and government officials.

Requirements include BA, excellent written and communication skills, knowledge of the legislative process and public policy development gained through a minimum of three years experience working on Capitol Hill and/ or in the legislative office of an association.
