Government Relations Manager

Description:
Provide facilitative and analytic project management for the development and execution of Valassis' Government Relations and postal strategy. Conduct financial analysis and related research for governmental/legislative issues and postal rate proceedings. Monitor consultant contracts in relation to department budget and prepare monthly budget reports. Assist in management of Valassis' Political Action Committee. Develop recommendations for company positions on governmental, regulatory and postal issues.

Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree and 5-8 years of relevant experience.
Governmental/Legislative/Regulatory experience, at Local, State or Federal level.
Demonstrated PAC management experience.
Solid understanding of Federal Elections Commission statutes.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Ability to function in rapidly changing political/regulatory environment.

Required Experience:
Excellent speaking/writing skills; good organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of postal regulations and/or governmental/legislative arena desired
