Government Relations Manager

Details NPRA, a national energy industry trade association representing the domestic refining and petrochemical industries, is searching for a highly-motivated individual for the position of Government Relations Manager. The candidate will report to the Association's Director of Government Relations and will join an existing team of professionals as a federal public policy advocate before the U.S. Congress and the Administration on issues impacting the Association's members. This individual also will participate in the continued development of the Association's aggressive federal legislative strategies and programs.

Job Requirements/Qualifications/Knowledge:

• Bachelors degree in a government relations-related field, or equivalent experience
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience working on energy or related federal legislative issues on Capitol Hill, in the federal government, or at trade association or law or lobbying firm
• Exhibit strong written and oral communication skills, evidenced by experience in communicating advocacy positions, drafting issue papers, and preparing public statements and testimony
• Have a strong existing knowledge of the federal legislative process, as well as an existing network of professional relationships on Capitol Hill
