Position Summary: This position is responsible for managing and supporting the Association's relations with U.S. and international governmental and non-governmental entities/agencies in an effort to establish and strengthen alliances, and increase visibility among key policy makers and governmental agencies worldwide. This position serves as central contact for governmental affairs and works closely with Lions leadership along with all divisions at International Headquarters.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
--Serves as central contact and coordinator for LCI's government advocacy firm in Washington D.C., establishing and strengthening alliances with government and non-government agencies.
--Work with Lions European Union Steering Committee to assist in building government and agency relations within the European Union Commission and Parliament Institutions.
--Develop and maintain database of government contacts, fact sheets and materials to support LCI's outreach efforts with policy leaders and multi-national agencies worldwide.
Requirements:
--Bachelor's degree or equivalent
--Minimum of 5 years of related experience in a non-profit capacity with working knowledge of international affairs
--Technical skills to include proficiency using MS Office (Word & Excel), Internet Research and Social Media sites.
--Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
--Professional writing skills
--Working knowledge of legislative processes.
--Domestic and International Travel
