Job Details
The BPC is the trade association representing the British poultry meat sector. Our primary aim is to foster an effective, equitable and cost-effective regulatory framework governing all aspects of the production and processing of poultry meat within the UK and the European Union.
We are looking for an experienced public affairs and media relations oriented person to lead and develop our communications activities. This is a key role to inform the BPC membership and represent the BPC and poultry meat industry to external stakeholders, such as government departments, agencies, MPs and MEPs, the trade press and national media.
The role requires a capable and articulate communicator with strong presentational and writing abilities. It will suit a confident and dynamic self-starter who will be joining our small team at our London office. Knowledge of the UK and EU legislative process or of food or farming regulation would be helpful but is not essential. Competence in the commonly used Microsoft programmes is required, and experience in website editing would be an advantage. An academic degree and a background of success in public affairs, the civil service or in trade association work could provide the suitable experience and skills for this permanent position.
A salary package will be paid according to experience and qualifications.
