Position Description |
The assistant director for thought leadership works with the director to run CGI’s internal public policy project and interacts closely with executives across the CGI Federal and Defense and Intelligence business units to align thought leadership and business strategy. This executive consultant-level staffer will work closely with the director to deepen relationships with the leaders of strategic accounts, meeting with them regularly to understand and align with their strategies. He or she also will write and help review and copy-edit articles for a quarterly publication featuring thought leadership in critical topic areas for federal executives and the business unit. He or she also will draft and copy-edit content for publications, reports, issue briefs, white papers, the thought leadership program’s Web site, event invitations, email marketing pieces and other artifacts. The EC will supervise the Web master and monitor the Web, media and interest group and academic publications to feed the daily enewsletter. These duties require tact and diplomacy in dealing with executives within the business unit group, federal policymaking organizations and federal departments and agencies. Also necessary: adaptability, curiosity and a firm grasp of constantly evolving policies in federal management, IT management and acquisition, the federal market and the operations of the Executive Branch and Congress. A strong candidate will have experience with government and writing and editing for a general audience and with Web publishing. Experience with digital video would be a plus. He or she also will be self-starter, a quick study, a multi-tasker, an experienced relationship-builder, a pragmatic problem-solver, an excellent communicator, utterly reliable, client-focused, efficient, and results-oriented. |
