Position is responsible for executing integrated communication strategies that drive business results. Position will develop and direct a centralized government and public affairs function with responsibilities to include: Works with key stakeholders to develop and define sustainable and positive Corporate Image. Works with Director of Strategic Communications to develop and direct Company's strategic communication plan for effective protection, promotion and management of Corporate Image. Develops, directs and executes federal and state government relations strategic plan to promote Corporate Image among public policymakers. Develops, directs and executes public relations strategic plan; coordinated public relations, media relations, community relations, government relations to drive business results. Interprets brand marketing and sales plans into effective public relations programs that drive business results and align with Brand strategy. Positions Company and Executives as leading experts in the industry; facilitates speaking engagements, blogging, and public events. Serves as Company's chief spokesperson. Builds and manages trade, online and traditional media relationships to establish ties that create ongoing interest. Continuously identifies and develops trade, online and media distribution channels that create a strong voice and visibility for new products, services, innovation and Company developments; directs and manages effective media distribution. Develops and executes crisis preparedness and response plans. Develops and directs corporate social responsibility programs, including community event sponsorship, workforce volunteerism, and Green initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications or related field (Masters or MBA a plus).
Minimum Experience: Ten years experience in public affairs, public relations or related communications field. Prior demonstrated leadership of a related program/area required. Health care industry experience preferred.
Required Skills: " Experience in public affairs planning, developing strategies/processes to met key business objectives. " Excellent writing, public speaking, crisis communication and professional public relations techniques. " Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of public/media relations. " Ability to quickly grasp complex subject matter and translate it into messaging that is easily understood by audiences; determining which information is appropriate for which audiences and channels. " Demonstrated experience in managing multiple, complex projects simultaneously, developing metrics and delivering measurable results. " Ability to partner with other functional areas to align messages. " Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, implement, evaluate and manage multiple projects. " Ability to develop budgets and manage to budget. " High level of understanding and respect for other company functions and ability to work well as a team.
