Director - Public Affairs & Communication, North America
As a Director of Public Affairs & Communications, you will be responsible for heading the Novozymes positioning team in North America. You will be located in the Washington, D.C. area, but you will travel weekly to work at our North American headquarters located near Raleigh, North Carolina for your first 1.5 - 2 years with Novozymes.  

You will provide leadership and inspiration for the integrated Communications and Public/Government Relations team for North America, and be responsible for the development and execution of integrated positioning strategies. You will of be a hands on contributing team member in message crafting, media outreach, government relations and issues management, Further, you will part of our Global Positioning Management team representing North America alongside colleagues from five continents.

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in political science, business administration or relevant field.
  • 8+ years of rich experience across government and public relations.
  • Ability to understand and translate highly technical initiatives into clear messaging and positioning strategies.
  • Experience working internationally in a highly innovative, dynamic working environment.
  • A background in biotech, energy or agriculture will be an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Strong team player and excellent people manager.
  • Proven track record in management and leadership experience.
  • Willingness to travel 75%, decreasing to 25-40% after 1 year.

You will play a vital role in our efforts to impact key government, media and other stakeholders.  A rewarding challenge will be to increase the public understanding of the benefits that bioinnovation can have for the world - and to see this reflected in policy initiatives and public support for more sustainable solutions across numerous industries including transportation, agriculture and house hold care. You will be working collaboratively across many functions and continents to fully leverage the capacities of our global organization in crafting compelling messages and strategies to support our objectives.
