National health care association is
seeking a senior level professional to serve as Director, Long Term Care (LTC),
Regulatory and Policy Affairs. Policy and regulatory responsibilities include:
(1) identification of major legislative and regulatory issues affecting LTC
community pharmacies; (2) proposing and implementing strategies resulting in
favorable outcomes , (3) legislative review, drafting and preparation of
legislation and regulatory comments, testimony and correspondence for regulatory
submission, (4) serve as primary contact with appropriate regulatory
agencies.
Other responsibilities include: (1) managing the Federal and
State lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill, with the Administration and in the
States (2) identifying emerging public policy issues related to LTC pharmacy to
develop appropriate regulatory and political responses (3) ensure that LTC
issues are included in Federal and State policy deliberations (4) cultivating
key relationships with appropriate regulatory bodies, Members of Congress,
Administration officials and their staff, and with key State policy makers (5)
serve as a spokesperson on NCPA long term care policy issues (6) work internally
to ensure grassroots advocacy, communications and policy development efforts are
coordinated with Federal and State lobbying strategies and needs.
Ideal
candidate should have at least 5 years regulatory experience related to LTC
community pharmacy. Excellent oral and written communication skills,
demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrated
ability to work with a broad range of internal and external constituents. Some
travel required; exposure to non-profit association a plus.
Pharmacist or
health care professional background required. Old Town location near King Street
