  • Director, Government Relations
The Director, Government Relations will plan, direct and implement congressional and executive branch relations that build and sustain a favorable environment for Navistar's business mission, and to perform other services as assigned to assist company business units in the achievement of their goals and objectives.  The Director, Government Relations assures that state and related Federal government developments relevant to our business operations are monitored and interpreted for the guidance and strategic decisions of company officers and managers; and counsels on effective government relations strategies.  The Director, Government Relations develops and maintains relationships with key state and Federal legislators and administrative officers and personnel, corporate and association representatives and selected members of other influential groups, on behalf of the company's interests; creates procedures for engaging in legislative activities; and conducts programs to achieve company objectives.

Requirements include: Bachelor's Degree, and at least 10 years of legislative affairs or government relations experience. The ability to travel up to 25%. This includes frequent air travel to Washington, DC and states where Navistar has facilities or business interests; also, minimal overseas travel will be required.
