The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), a prominent trade association in Washington, DC representing the high-tech industry, is seeking a dynamic individual to join our global team. The Director of Global Policy will lead the development and implementation of ITI’s activities related to global trade and technical regulatory policy, focusing primarily on Latin America.
The Director will work with member company representatives to develop industry consensus and advance the industry’s positions on market access issues abroad. S/he will develop relationships with overseas partners working on issues important to the high-tech industry. This person will represent the industry before federal agencies, foreign governments and other stakeholders. The Director will report directly to the Vice President for Global Policy.
Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) and at least five to seven years experience with public policy responsibility in a Federal agency, a trade association, or a corporation, preferably dealing with international trade issues. Must possess exceptional written and oral communications skills; demonstrated experience developing and implementing successful policy strategies; and strong consensus-building skills. The candidate must speak Spanish fluently, and knowledge of Portuguese is preferred.
