Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Engaging in industry discussions and analyzing regulatory developments and third party activities on technology-related matters to identify emerging trends and influence issues affecting the company's federal regulatory policy positions.
- Building and cultivating coalitions of industry representatives and other issue influencers to develop policy solutions for technology-related matters that potentially have federal regulatory policy relevance.
- Representing Verizon at the FCC and other government agencies, in public policy forums, industry conferences, in the media, and at other industry initiatives focused on federally regulated (or potentially federally regulated) technology-related issues.
- Advising Verizon senior management about the federal regulatory policy implication of technology-related issues.
- Working with Verizon corporate / business groups and Washington, D.C.-based public policy organizations to develop and manage federal regulatory policy initiatives on behalf of Verizon.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Washington, DC public policy work experience.
- Solid experience and expertise in the communications/technology industry.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written), including the ability to explain complex technological issues in layman's terms
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with an array of stakeholders and third party groups representing diverse viewpoints on technology-related issues.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree preferred.

- Strong organizational skills.
