This position manages External Affairs outreach and fundraising activities relating to Comcast's Political Action Committees (COMPAC) and Comcast Corporation, including but not limited to: annual solicitations for COMPAC and CablePAC membership; political fundraising events; charitable Matching Gift Program; and preparation of materials for COMPAC's Board of Directors, COMPAC members and eligibles.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute all aspects of annual solicitations for COMPAC and internal solicitation for CablePAC (the PAC of the industry's trade association, the National Cable and Telecommunications Association (NCTA)). These aspects include materials production and distribution; compliance; planning; collaboration with Comcast and other industry executives; promotion; tracking; and follow-up;
- Update and manage electronic and hard copy fundraising materials and resources;
- Work closely with Cable Division Vice Presidents and designated COMPAC "Champions" to devise and implement successful solicitations;
- Innovate and introduce creative ways to engage COMPAC eligibles to not only participate in COMPAC but also to find personal and professional value in participation;
- Develop and perform customized and informative presentations concerning COMPAC to eligible participants and members;
- Coordinate all aspects of internal and external fundraising events, working closely with internal Cable and other Business Divisions; industry executives; and campaigns of candidates and committees;
- Supervise and ensure accurate implementation of ongoing, multifaceted Matching Gift Program;
- Prepare financial reports and other information for quarterly Board of Directors and other meetings;
- Manage production of COMPAC Quarterly Newsletter;
- Oversee timely and accurate accounting of individuals' political contributions;
- Work closely with outside database vendor to maintain and enhance current systems and programs;
- Remain vigilant on issues of compliance and ethics and work closely with External Affairs and counsel to ensure same in every regard;
- Supervise relevant Coordinators, Interns and Administrative Supports
Required Skills and Experience:
- Undergraduate degree;
- Minimum 4 years of PAC, political fundraising or government affairs related experience;
- Strong interest in the political process;
- Knowledge and appreciation of and legal and ethical issues surrounding political fundraising and PACs;
- Knowledge of communications industry;
- Significant event planning experience;
- Excellent writing skills;
- Advanced communication and public speaking abilities;
- Strong organizational and time management abilities and attention to detail;
- Creative, innovative, entrepreneurial, and highly motivated spirit;
- Ability to maintain and ensure accuracy of a high volume of records and files;
- Excellent computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Excel proficiency, Internet research)
- Exceptional customer-service orientation
- Willingness to travel occasionally;
- Ability to work in team-oriented environment under tight deadlines.
