Director, Corporate Affairs & Strategic Communications

The Director, Corporate Affairs & Strategic Communications will report to the Vice President Corporate Communications. The incumbent will serve as a key strategist and corporate advisor on communications for Siemens US, interacting with important internal and external audiences, including Siemens, AG, and manages tactical implementation. This individual will lead public relations related project teams and sub-teams to ensure long-term business success. The individual must possess superior communication skills and be able to act as corporate spokesperson with outside groups and the media. This individual will also direct the company's external public relations firm as well as executive communications.

The specific duties assigned to the Director, Corporate Affairs & Strategic Communications include the following:

- Serve as a key strategist to the organization regarding communication practices and policies for Siemens in the U.S. As corporate spokesperson exercises communication savvy in dealing with the media, business and community groups, as well as government officials, and other important stakeholders.

- Serve as strategic expert in public relations by advising senior management on issues that may have direct impact on the Siemens brand in the US.

- Responsible for developing the strategies and managing the implementation of corporate communications, including news releases and announcements, executive out-reach , video and digital presence, key speeches and business presentations, media training, corporate brochures and materials, and other company programs.

- Partner with Marketing to build communication strategies that enhance brand reputation across critical internal and external stakeholders, including the news media.

- Develop and implement crisis management communication strategies with business sectors and corporate partners to ensure smooth transition and positive results on critical issues.

- Provide public relations support and counsel to US business sectors and corporate departments as needed.
- Use innovative technology solutions to ensure the timely and effective implementation of integrated communications to support business priorities.

- Develop and implement external communications regarding mergers and acquisitions.
- Provide counsel; manage communications for complex international issues which could have a negative impact on Company image.

- Manage customer relations communications; develop a strategic communications plan to position key leaders to include the CEO .

- Manage corporate outreach initiatives.

Experience/Qualifications

- BA/BS Degree in Communications or related area;
- Minimum of ten years experience in Marketing Communications, Corporate Communications, and/or Public/Media Relations;

- Ability to work independently in a multi-faceted and deadline-oriented environment within a heavily regulated industry;

- Requires strong speaking/presentation capabilities, along with time management, oral and written communication skills and must be adept in creating and implementing strategy and building a brand;

- Familiarity and experience with government compliance regulations and communications issues
- Experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from the envisioning stage to successful implementation.

- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with a broad array of employees and constituents.
- Experience working with and effectively presenting strategic plans to senior management. Proven achievements of large scale communications and change programs.

- Experience identifying communication opportunities.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop others.
