Director OF Communications

NPRA, a national energy industry trade association representing the domestic refining and petrochemical industries, is seeking an experienced, dynamic professional for its Director of Communications position.  The Director will oversee all aspects of communications strategy for the Association with emphasis on tailored communications to key audiences including the print and electronic media, elected and appointed officials, other policy and opinion leaders, and corporate member communication officials.   The Director is responsible for developing and directing communication initiatives that advance the key priorities of the NPRA and the domestic refining and petrochemical industry.  The position reports directly to the Executive Vice President. 

The successful candidate will have, at minimum, a Bachelors degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, and at least 10-12 years of professional experience in corporate, association or related communications.  This innovative individual also will possess exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal   communications skills, and the ability to effectively interface with senior management, the association's member volunteer leadership, and staff.  Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing a comprehensive, strategic communication and media relations program is a must.  Experience in the energy sector is a plus.

The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and will be coupled with the Association's excellent employee benefits program.
