Los Alamos National Laboratory, the premier national security science laboratory-located in the beautiful Jemez Mountains near Santa Fe, NM-seeks a top-notch communicator with significant spokesperson experience, strong media relations and project management skills, and demonstrated writing talent.  Successful candidate will be responsible for a wide variety of strategic and tactical communications activities that will help promote the game-changing science coming out of the Lab and the role we play in national security science.

Key Responsibilities: Help publicize cutting-edge science and technology developments that serve the national interest in such areas as supercomputing and energy security.  Shape internal and external communications strategies and messages. Help manage and serve as media contact on key issues. Write and edit articles about science, technology, and national security.  Contribute to Lab's social media presence.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field plus at least 6-8 years of relevant experience.  Experience writing for general audiences about science, engineering, technology or national security.  Political acumen and public policy-related communications experience desired.  Must either possess or be able to obtain a Department of Energy "Q" security clearance.
