Communications Manager, Human Health and Industrial Farming/Food Safety

The Pew Charitable Trusts, an independent nonprofit, is driven by the power of knowledge to solve today's most challenging problems.  The Pew Campaign on Human Health and Industrial Farming aims to reduce antibiotic resistance in humans through banning the routine application of non-therapeutic antibiotics in food animals.  The Pew Food Safety Campaign works to reduce disease-causing pathogens in our meats, fruits, vegetables and other foods by strengthening federal government authority and enforcement of food safety laws.

The communications manager is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic communications strategies that advance the media and communications goals of two key campaigns within the Health and Human Services Policy (HHS) program. A minimum of eight years of progressively responsible communications, public relations and/or media relations experience with an agency, corporation or large non-profit institution is required.  The position is based in Washington, D.C.
