The Communications Associate will help review marketing collateral; track deadlines and budget; develop articles and copy for outreach and marketing efforts; oversee and develop strategies to enhance public image; identify key messages; and work with the marketing team to oversee production of internal and external materials such as brochures, Web copy, newsletters and presentations, while working to develop outward communications such as press releases and talking points.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Meeting with respective accounts to develop, implement and manage PR, communications and marketing programs and strategies
Review collateral; track deadlines and budget; develop copy and outreach for communications and marketing; writing and editing USGBC articles for publication in trade and mainstream press
Working with marketing and communications teams to oversee development of materials
Working with communications teams to draft and distribute USGBC media communications
Working with team to develop, write, and edit multiple newsletters, email blasts and email marketing campaigns for respective clients
Maintaining consistency with the USGBC message through all our communications pieces and collateral
USGBC Web Site management
RELATED ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
This position will support USGBC's leadership in the green building industry and contribute to advancing USGBC's mission of market transformation.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Minimum 2 years of communications/public relations experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or Business (Marketing) or equivalent combination of education and experience
Social media and Web site experience a plus
Team player with outstanding interpersonal skills
Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written)
Very strong organizational and project management skills
Ability to multi-task and problem solve diverse issues
Commitment to USGBC mission
