Public Affairs Council

Campaign Manager

The Pew Charitable Trusts, an independent nonprofit, is driven by the power of knowledge to solve today's most challenging problems.

In July 2008 under the auspices of the Pew Center on the States, The Pew Charitable Trusts established the five-year Children's Dental Health Initiative. The project seeks to improve access to dental health care for disadvantaged children by advancing state policy reforms. Dental care is the biggest unmet need among children.

The campaign manager will be part of a dynamic team responsible for developing and implementing the dental health initiative, and will be responsible for designing and executing the initiative's state advocacy campaigns. This is a senior position at the project manager level, and will be based in Pew's Washington, D.C. office, reporting to the project director.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of eight years of relevant experience in advocacy, campaign strategy development and implementation, and policy, including experience working with state policy makers, researchers, advocates, and other stakeholders. Experience in children's issues, health, oral health, or a related field is preferred. The position requires a bachelor's degree as well as an advanced degree in public policy, law, public health, or other relevant discipline.

The Pew Center on the States (PCS), an internal operating division of Pew Charitable Trusts, identifies and advances effective policy approaches to critical issues facing states. It researches emerging topics, develops 50-state comparisons, and highlights innovative approaches among states to complex problems. When the facts are clear, PCS advocates for nonpartisan, pragmatic solutions.
