Successful candidates will have 1-3 years of experience developing and executing marketing and communications campaigns as well as: Superior communication skills, both written and oral; Ability to prioritize and execute simultaneous projects on behalf of multiple clients; Experience working directly with clients to coordinate complex programs; History of working securing media coverage in a wide range of print, online and broadcast outlets; Strong Internet research skills, Familiarity with Factiva, Cision/Bacon's, and other media search databases is a definite plus; Working knowledge of the use of social media, Web 2.0, and social networking applications in a professional environment; Legislative / Capitol Hill experience is preferred, but not required.
Depending on prior experience, this candidate will join the firm as an Assistant Account Executive/Account Executive with responsibilities to include: Serving as primary liaison with client contacts to develop, execute, and evaluate strategic communications plans; Offering creative input during brainstorm sessions and working closely with account managers to ensure client obligations are met in a timely fashion; Developing and maintaining media contact lists; Drafting press releases and media advisories around major client initiatives; Preparing marketing materials, white papers, and brochures; Nurturing successful relationships with local, regional, national, and international media to secure positive coverage of client projects; Engaging online media and social networking tools to promote client programs and major agency announcements.
