Northern Virginia public relations/communications firm seeks qualified candidate to support new and social media communications, as well as traditional media support in its expanding digital PR group. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to leverage new media placements and social media networking, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, for advocacy and communications.
Candidate supports three key areas of responsibility:
New and Social Media - Candidate will manage and generate regular original content for multiple blogs and social media accounts for clients, and will be responsible for demonstrating results and developing regular measurement reports for social media and blog initiatives. Candidate will have a working knowledge of Search Engine Optimization practices and experience with Google AdWords, Google Analytics, and Facebook Ads, among others. The candidate should be prepared to regularly propose and implement new blog and social media outreach initiatives which reflect client goals, and keep abreast of new and evolving online applications.
Writing/Media Relations - Candidate should have proven ability to generate compelling and well-written original content for talking points, policy issue briefs, fact sheets, press releases, websites, blogs and social media, as well as for draft memos, client reports and scripts for video and audio productions, among other documents. Candidate will support media relations initiatives including the development and maintenance of press lists, researching and crafting press materials, pitching stories to the media, handling press calls, and tracking placements.
Account Management - The candidate should be a self-starter, professional and well organized, be able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. The candidate will support the daily operations of accounts, and be responsible for developing client reports and liaison with clients; a highly professional phone manner is critical.
