PACs During Times of Scandal
Doug Pinkham, President of Public Affairs Council, presented a keynote address at the 2006 National PAC Conference addressing how to talk about politics when employees or members don't trust politicians. While his presentation was given in the wake the lobbying and political scandals of 2005 and 2006, political involvement professions continue struggling with the best way to convince others that they have an ethical government affairs program, especially given the sometimes misguided news coverage on federal stimulus and T.A.R.P. funding. The attached presentation provides a brief history of scandal and provides talking points on communicating with employees, senior executives, members and external audiences.
