This year, several high-profile corruption scandals involving international companies in emerging markets such as China and Russia - as well as FCPA scrutiny by the U.S. Justice Department - have spotlighted the need for companies to take a closer look at how they manage compliance in foreign markets.
Because international public affairs professionals must adhere to a complex set of laws, regulations and ethics guidelines, they are partly responsible for planning and implementing their organization's risk-management program - ideally before a crisis happens. This complicated task requires integrated and consistent coordination and controls and the involvement of several business functions, including senior management, legal, finance and communications.
This webinar will examine compliance and international risk management issues pertinent to the international public affairs function, including:
- Practical examples and steps to help you understand FCPA and SEC regulations, with a focus on avoiding non-compliance using internal procedures and record-keeping.
- Identifying ethics procedures and anti-corruption laws that can be tricky even for the most diligent professional.
- Creating safe communication channels in an organization for preventing and reporting ethics violations.
- Communicating your compliance procedures to those you work with outside the organization including consultants and partners engaged on CSR programs.
- Highlighting your organization's ethics and values by communicating about your compliance and reputation management programs.
- How to respond when allegations are made or violations are discovered.
