Webinar: Building an International Public Affairs Function

According to a 2010 McKinsey Survey of international business executives, "government is likelier to affect companies' economic value than any other group of stakeholders, except customers" in the U.S. and abroad. It is for this reason that organizations large and small are engaging in public affairs in all their markets worldwide and coordinating cross-border strategies. However, creating, implementing and managing an integrated international public affairs program requires careful thought.

This webinar explores the fundamentals of setting up and operating such a program including:

  • Winning internal support and ensuring integration in the business
  • Creating the right structure for your organization
  • Cross-border issue management and coordination
  • Being a ‘local' and ‘global' organization for internal and external stakeholders
  • Frequent challenges and staffing considerations

Featuring:

Dr. Fruzsina Harsanyi is senior advisor for the Public Affairs Council. As a consultant on the role public affairs plays in global business strategy, Harsanyi advises Council members on domestic and international public affairs challenges. She has 30 years of experience managing the public affairs function for several U.S. and non-U.S. multinational corporations. She has been on the faculty of the Corporate Public Affairs Institute in Melbourne, Australia, for 14 years and lectures widely in the U.S. and abroad, including at Georgetown University and Leeds University Business School in the United Kingdom.
