DESCRIPTIONContribute and coordinate internal and external public affairs operations. Duties include public affairs support for publishing, writing and editing congressional correspondence, notifications, speech writing, corporate newsletters, press releases, statements for the record, and communications plans. Products are high visibility and may be viewed throughout the Officer of Director of National Intelligence, Intelligence Community, Congress, Department of Defense, and the media. Essential Job Functions
- Manages the research, development, implementation, and publication of communication vehicles; upgrades publications with regard to design and content to ensure accuracy, timeliness, relevancy.
- Consults with other areas of management or business units, sales departments and advertising agencies to leverage various media outlets such as web marketing, trade show activity and direct marketing.
- Manages preparation of sales aids, advertising and public relations projects; recommends the media to be used to sell specific products or services in order to support marketing objectives.
- Oversees the writing and production of internal and external marketing communications materials including brochures, newsletters, presentations, advertisements, service sheets, employee handbooks and electronic communication; ensures contents succeed in conveying business and organizational messages to employees.
- Provides ideas for company website structure; works in conjunction with appropriate parties to enhance the appeal of communication material.
- Researches communications trends; ensures new information is regularly added to appropriate communications media to support business needs.
- Manages the logistics of distributing communication materials to ensure timeliness and consistency across business units.
- Interacts with customer to develop ideas from communication materials; works in conjunction with vendors to produce, review, and approve of communications material.
- Selects and hires employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Motivates and rewards employees including providing salary increases, bonuses and promotions within allocated budgets and company guidelines.
- Prepares, recommends and oversees development of operating and personnel budgets. Monitors spending for adherence to budget plans, develops and recommends variances. Performs and/or oversees budget analysis.
QUALIFICATIONSBasic Qualifications
Must have current TS/SSBI with Full Scope Poly.
- Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Master's degree in business administration, marketing, communication or related field preferred
- Twelve or more years of communication experience
- Nine or more years of supervisory or management experience included
- Experience working with company products and operating systems
- Experience working with communications practices, principles and procedures
- Experience working with computer industry
