Deputy Managing Editor Leaves Politico to Join Public Affairs Council
Washington,
D.C. - Erika Compart, deputy managing editor at Politico, has joined the
Public Affairs Council as Communications and Editorial Director. Compart is a
seasoned journalist with 14 years of experience as an editor at major news
organizations.
Prior to joining Politico in 2007, she spent six and a half years at Agence France-Presse's Washington bureau as an editor, reporter and translator. Her reportage covered a wide range of subjects, from the White House and the State Department to arts and culture. She won a Washington-Baltimore Newspaper Guild award in 2006 for headline writing.
Before that Compart served as a news editor at U.S. News & World Report. She also assigned and edited articles on health, finance, technology and travel as supervising editor of the magazine's "News You Can Use" briefs page.
In her new role, Compart will oversee the Council's global communications programs, including its website, monthly newsletter, research publications and marketing communications. She will also serve as chief editor and assist in new program development.
