Carly Fiorina, former chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard Co., will address the Public Affairs Council's fall board meeting, to be held in San Francisco Oct. 7-9.
Fiorina, who was named one of the "most powerful women" in business by Fortune and Forbes Magazine, will talk about ways effective leaders build trust among employees, the general public and other stakeholders.
Other presentations on the agenda include:
- Edelman CEO Richard Edelman, who will review the latest data on the public's distrust of business and how it is affecting public policy.
- Former White House Communications Director David Demarest, now at Stanford University, who will moderate a panel on reputation management.
- Gary Sheffer from General Electric, who will discuss rebuilding reputation and trust in this reset economy.
- Senior public affairs executives from ARAMARK, Best Buy, Cisco, the Gap, and Nationwide, who will share best practices in public affairs management, corporate social responsibility, and advocacy for the public good.
