NATIONAL PAC CONFERENCE
February 27 - March 1, 2012 - Loews Portofino Bay Hotel - Orlando, FL

Due to the incredible response from early registrants, our room block at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel has been filled on the night of February 29 and we expect to sell out the other nights very soon. As of January 17, there are still a limited number of rooms at the hotel but they are expecting to sell out over our conference dates. We recommend that you call ASAP to book a room if you wish to stay at the conference hotel. If the hotel proves to be sold out, we have provided a list of alternate lodging options in the immediate area. You must call the hotels directly to determine their availability and the current room rate.

WAIT LIST: If you would like to be placed on the wait list for a room at the Portofino Bay, please contact Lauren Tyler at 202.721.0913 or ltyler@pac.org. Rooms will be granted as cancellations are received. You will be contacted no later than February 17 if a room becomes available. After that date, the waiting list will be released. We highly recommend that you make alternate accommodations as there are no guarantees that we will be able to provide rooms.

Alternate Hotels in the Orlando Area
The below hotels are the closest hotels to the Loews Portofino Bay. There is a complimentary shuttle that circulates between the Portofino Bay and these properties daily and runs approximately every 30 minutes.


GENERAL INFORMATION REGARDING GROUP ROOM BLOCKS
Once the rooming block is full or after the cut-off date (whichever comes first), you may not be able to obtain the Public Affairs Council group rate or a room at the conference hotel. Therefore, we recommend that you book a room as early as possible.

Also please note that the room rate is only valid for the nights of the conference (check-in taking place on the first advertised day of the conference and check-out on the final day.) Some hotels have been known to honor the room rate on the few days before and after our events, but please be aware that it is not guaranteed and that the room rate may be different.

ROOM RATES & RESERVATIONS
The Public Affairs Council has obtained a special group rate of $265 per night at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel located at 5601 Universal Boulevard in Orlando, Florida. For more than double occupancy in a room, an additional charge of $25 per night will apply though children less than 18 years old can stay free in their parent's room. To make hotel reservations, please call (866) 360-7395. Make sure to identify yourself as a Public Affairs Council registrant to receive the group rate. The deadline for reservations is January 30 at 6pm EST.

A deposit equal to one nights stay is required to hold each individual reservation in the form of a personal check, money order or a valid credit card number with expiration date. The deposit will be applied to the last night of the reserved stay. Reservations can be cancelled and deposits refunded if notice is received at least 5 business days prior to arrival. Please make sure that you obtain a cancellation number.

AIRPORTS & TRANSPORTATION
Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the closest airport to the hotel (~25-30 minutes).Taxi fare is approximately $40-45 one-way. 

Though traditional SuperShuttle service is not available to and from the Portofino Bay, SuperShuttle does offer car and SUV service to/from the airport. Please visit www.supershuttle.com for more information.

Shuttles can be arranged through Mears Transportation. Shuttle services can be arranged upon arrival at the airport through ground transportation though reservations are recommended. Please be aware that this is a typical airport shuttle that makes stops at several different hotels in the area on the way to and from the Portofino Bay and travel times can be up to one hour depending upon the number of other passengers/stops. To book a reservation, please contact 407-423-5566.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

From Orlando International Airport:

  • Take the North exit out the airport onto Beachline Expressway (SR528) West (International Drive, Convention Center)
  • Continue on Beachline and take I-4 East
  • Take Exit 75A (Universal Studios) and get in the left lane
  • At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Universal Blvd.
  • Portofino entrance is 1 mile on the right

*SR528 is a toll road. Cost is $1.50.

From Turnpike (North or South):

  • Take Exit 259 (I-4 interchange) onto I-4 (Tampa)
  • Take Exit 74B (Universal Studios) and get in the right lane
  • At traffic light, turn right onto Hollywood Way
  • Travel half a mile to Universal Blvd., and turn left
  • Portofino entrance is 1 mile on the right

From Downtown Orlando (I-4 West):

  • Take I-4 West to Exit 74B (Universal Studios) and get in the right lane
  • At traffic light, turn right onto Hollywood Way
  • Travel half a mile to Universal Blvd., and turn left
  • Portofino entrance is 1 mile on the right

From Tampa (I-4 East):

  • Take I-4 East towards downtown Orlando
  • Take Exit 75A (Universal Studios) and get in the left lane
  • At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Universal Blvd.
  • Portofino entrance is 1 mile on the right

From I-95 South:

  • Take I-95 South to Exit 260B (I-4 West towards Orlando)
  • Take I-4 West to Exit 74B (Universal Studios) and get in the right lane
  • At the traffic light, turn right onto Hollywood Way
  • Travel half a mile to Universal Blvd., and turn left
  • Portofino entrance is 1 mile on the right

From I-95 North:

  • Take I-95 North to Exit 205 (SR528 - Beachline Expressway) heading West
  • Continue on Beachline and take Exit 75A (universal Studios) and get in the left lane
  • Turn left on Universal Blvd.
  • Portofino entrance is 1 mile on the right
